/higgsfield

Higgsfield's API, plus an open-source studio you can rebrand.

One key for 50+ image and video models, paid per generation. Plus a community-built studio app (MIT) you can fork and put your own brand on.

What it is

The reel covers two different things:

  1. The official Higgsfield API. A developer API with more than 50 image and video models in one catalogue: Seedance, Kling, Wan, MiniMax, LTX, PixVerse, Recraft, Ideogram, Grok and Higgsfield's own. You top up a balance and pay per generation.
  2. Open Generative AI, a community-built studio in the style of Higgsfield. It isn't made by Higgsfield. It's an image, video and lip-sync app you can run on your machine or deploy yourself, under the MIT licence.

Why it matters

  • The API has no subscription. Every model has a published price: video per second of output, images per image. A 10-second Kling 3.0 clip costs $1.12.
  • Failed generations aren't charged. You only pay for results that succeed.
  • It's set up for coding agents. Each model page has code samples and setup prompts for Claude Code and Cursor.
  • The studio is yours to change. MIT means you can fork it, rebrand it and ship it as your own product.

Get started

API: open higgsfield.ai/api, add a payment method and top up, then create a key (it's shown only once, so save it). Open a model's page and paste its setup prompt into Claude Code.

Studio: the easiest way is the prebuilt desktop app from the repo's releases. To run it from source (Node 18+):

Terminal
git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/Anil-matcha/Open-Generative-AI.git
cd Open-Generative-AI
npm run setup
npm run dev # opens on http://localhost:3000

It asks for a Muapi key on first use. Skip it if you only want local models.

Before you use it

  • The studio isn't free to generate with. Its cloud models run through Muapi, which needs a paid key. Only local models work without one.
  • The “white label” in its README is Muapi's paid service, from $49 a month. It's not part of the open-source code. Forking and rebranding the MIT code yourself costs nothing.
  • Its README advertises no content filters. If you sell it, you're responsible for what your customers generate and for each model's terms.
  • Prices change. Check the model's page on Higgsfield before you quote a price to anyone.
